Burglary in Marlands Shopping Centre Pawnbroker’s Shop

The Marlands Shopping Centre, Southampton.

The Dail Echo reported recently on a police appeal that has been launched by Hampshire police, following a burglary that took place in a Southampton pawnbroker shop situated within the Marlands Shopping Centre.

The incident happened on Wednesday 3rd June at some point between 01.15am and 01.30am. Two men were involved with the theft. One of the criminals broke the glass door, enabling the other burglar to gain access to the shop. Whilst inside, he grabbed a selection of Cartier and a Tag Heur watch boxes. Fortunately, all of the boxes were empty. The man that had broken the glass in the door, had been a look out in the doorway. He is reported to have been wearing a full face, red motorcycle helmet.

The two burglars then fled the scene with the watch boxes on a motorbike, that had been left running whilst the event took place.

The culprits are both described as being of slim build.

The man that acted as a lookout was wearing a black jacket, grey jogging bottoms and a white scarf over his mouth. His red trials style crash helmet had a design on the back and a black stripe across the top of it.

The other burglar also had a black jacket on and black jeans. Both of the men were carrying a ruck sack. One of the ruck sacks is described as looking like it was made out of a camouflage type material.
